John Prentice left by will to his wife the right to dispose of one-half of his estate at her death. She gave it to her nephew, Rev. John Prentice, of Lancaster (whose will I have) in 1741, being seventy-five acres on the plain, with house and barn. Rev. John Prentice of Lancaster sold it in 1742, to Henry Givvs, Esq for l1,420, being nearly the same land which James & Thomas Prentice, Jr.(my grandfather), acquired by joint purchase in 1657.
