Thomas Burnham is also known in the records as Thomas Burnham Jr. He was a carpenter & worked on the meeting house, repairing it in 1688. He is also listed as a Miller. He took the Freeman Oath 31 May 1671. He has right of commonage aaccording to law granted him in 1678. Thomas Jr. became Luetenant on 10 March 1683, receiving his commission from Governor Dudley. In 1683, 1684, & again in 1685, he was chosen Deputy to the General Court of Ipswich, Mass.
Ipswich Marriages Lists Sgt. Thomas Burnam married to Esther Bishop 16 Nov 1685 with a ? on 1685. If Lydia (1) wife died in 1688- Thomas could not have married Esther (Hester) in 1685.
