Thomas Smith was an Inn holdder in Ipswich;
In a plan of a section of Ipswich in 1717,the late Mr. Joseph Bakers house, on the Meeting House Green, is owned by Turner Thomas Smith; and the old Black house on the corner of the lane is owned by his son Ephraim Smith;
Thomas was the son of Robert Smith of Boxford; On 23 Sept 1697, he calls himself 40 years old, and Martha, his wife, forty years old. He says Robert is his father and his brothers are Ephraim, Samuel & Jacob of Boxford.
He (Thomas) was in Ipswich in 1680. He mentions 8 children in his will:
