John Prentice is my 4th Great Grandfather on my Drake line;

Source 3: Descendants of Robert Prentice, John resided in Sutton; He was in the Revolutionary Army under Col. Reed from Uxbridge, and was drowned in crossing a river in that town.

A John Prentice can be found in 1800 Tioga, Luzerne, Penn. Census pg: 426, along with Thaddeus Prentice who is said to be son of Jonah Prentice; Thaddeus is also in Luzerne; I have not checked out this Thaddeus;
It is possible that John Prentice is father of Asher Prentice B: 25 Oct 1755/56 at Uxbridge & M: Sarah Marsh 18 Oct 1779 at Uxbridge: Widow Sarah applied for his Rev War Pension in 1830 at Bennington Vt. Children were Asher, Polly Butler & Lucy House; The son Asher Prentice was agaed 58 in 1855, a resident of Bennington Co. Vermont; (I realize that John Prentice & Mary McClellan were married after the birth of Asher, but could still belong to Them! (Marys nepher James McClellan had a child born out of wedlock before his 2nd marriage)
John Prentice has two more daughters whose names arae not known at this writing of March 2006;
